Your mind constantly feels switched on and you can’t stop worrying
You feel stuck in cycles of low mood, tiredness and no motivation
You experience intrusive and difficult memories or feel on edge after something challenging has happened
You overthink everything and find it hard to relax, even when things are “fine”
You feel like you are just “surviving” rather than living
If you can relate to any of this, CBT can help you understand what’s happening and start to change it
How I can help
My name is Leonie, and I’m a BABCP fully accredited CBT therapist. I offer structured, evidence-based therapy for:
Anxiety
Helping you break the cycle of worry, intrusive thoughts, overthinking and physical anxiety symptoms
Trauma and PTSD
Supporting you to move towards a life where the impact of distressing events, memories, triggers and feelings of being on edge and jumpy is significantly reduced
Depression
Helping you reconnect with motivation, interest, joy and a sense of meaning again
What working with me is like
Therapy is structured, but we will always work together as a team to understand the problem you are experiencing, what is keeping it going over time, and build strategies that work individually for you to help you move towards a quality of life that works for you.
A typical process with me may look like:
Optional initial 15 minute consultation: We can talk a little more about what has been happening for you and what you would like help with
Assessment session(s): We spend time building an understanding of what the difficulties are that you have been experiencing, and how this has been affecting you, as well as starting to look at what may have led to this developing
CBT Plan: We agree together what you would like therapy to focus upon and/or what your goals are
Ongoing Weekly/Fortnightly Sessions: We will work together on practical techniques to make real-life change for you in a way that is right for you. You may want to choose how many sessions you have, or you may prefer to “just see how it goes”
Preventing Relapse and Future Plan after Therapy has ended: Once you are at a stage where you feel you no longer need therapy, we will make a plan together to prevent/make a relapse much less likely – a future toolkit!
Sessions are online across the UK (either video call or via encrypted instant messaging) with an in-person offer in South Yorkshire.
Stop avoiding situations they used to be able to cope with
Feel they can deal more with thoughts and emotions
CBT doesn’t remove all stress from life, but it can help to remove how much control it has over you
